"WHY!"

Do you wonder why I write these Poems
why I say the things I say?
Most of them I've 'lived' them
each & every day!
I've slipped & fallen from God's Grace
then had to turn & 'repent',
I've hated, rather than -
'loved my neighbor'
& 'in misery' I have spent.
I've 'grieved' The Holy Spirit
& when He turned away,
My soul was 'crushed' within me
& I couldn't really pray.
I was 'shallow' & content
to live in 'pride' & 'self ',
But then I heard God say:
" I'll have to put you on the shelf! "
Now if that doesn't 'floor you'
when in sadness you hear God's Voice,
I had to make my mind up
& make 'the RIGHT CHOICE'!
'Playing church' was over
it was now 'do or die', *
To be 'usable' to CHRIST
'self ' & 'pride' I must defy!
I had to 'fully surrender'
every part of me,
Then I could serve my Lord
& be forever 'free'!
Free to 'stop' using my past
as a 'crutch' that I could lean on,
Blaming 'things that happened to me'
as a reason not to 'press on'!
I'm still not perfect as you well know :) :)
'in process' still am I,
But, now my sites are set on my Lord
Who reigns on High!
