"HIS IMAGE"
© 1997 Patricia L. Carpenter
We were made in His Image *
but 'sin' distorted His view,
Others ceased to see HIM
in me & you.
Then The Potter began
to 'remold' the clay, *
Some of us 'yielded'
yet others turned away. *
I'm so glad I've yielded to Him
you, too, I hope & Pray,
For I'd hate to see The Potter
have to 'trample' the clay. *
We made a CHOICE:
we've 'yielded' to God, *
But our lives need 'reshaping'
so to work HE must plod.
'Pushing' & 'pressing'
using 'tools' here & there,
'Chipping' & 'grinding'
so we won't be 'square'.
More like 'JESUS'
He's making us,
But, we keep complaining
& raising a fuss.
"Ouch, STOP doing that!"
we yell & scream,
Not realizing He's helping
to fulfill our 'dream'.
Our dream of being exactly like JESUS,
So others can see 'HIM' in us.
Thus creating a 'longing'
deep in their soul,
So that they, too, will 'yield'
to The Potter's 'control'.
Allowing Him ~
'free reign' in their lives,
So He can look at ALL & say:
"Now there's a 'prize'!" *
Presenting us to
His Father above,
Showing Him we're worthy
of His Great LOVE.
Not because of any 'goodness'
seen in our lives,
But because He sees JESUS ~
'HIS IMAGE' ~ revived!
