"SERVING THE LORD!"

{Poem Book # 5}
We can serve The ~Lord~
just by serving 'others', *
Reaching out to 'help'
all those sisters & brothers.
When God called out to Samuel *
he said to God, "Just speak!",
Do we really want to 'hear' Him
& are we 'truly' meek?
'Willing' to OBEY Him
& 'repeat' what He has said,
Or 'afraid' to speak out *
or be 'Spirit' led? *
Samuel 'overcame' his fear
& spoke God's Words of warning, *
Then God could 'use' him
& he didn't live in mourning.
He didn't have to mourn
because he didn't give in to fear,
And neither will we
if we're willing to serve, my dear!
Do not be like Eli *
who didn't stop his sons, *
Who 'compromised' with evil *
until his life was done.
For he 'ate' the offerings
his sons had 'illegally' taken,
And God removed His Blessing
& Eli's bloodline was forsaken. *
Now Samuel's sons were evil, too *
but Samuel did not 'compromise',
He remained 'true' to God
& to the people was very 'wise'. *
Serving isn't always easy
nor is it all such fun,
And sometimes we get 'weak'
& only want to run.
But, let God 'strengthen' you
to go & do your duty,
Serving others in 'love'
& bringing out God's beauty.
The beauty of His Holiness
& the beauty of His Grace,
Freeing others of burdens
& their sins He will erase!
